Day 8 Recap

I got on the go a bit late yesterday and left to head toward Robson Square around 11AM. I was heading there to meet Chris Morcom for lunch. We ate at a restaurant called Earl's. It was a nice place and it was great to catch up with Chris again. I then went on the hunt for a ticket to the Canada game. There weren't many scalpers selling tickets to the Canada game at that time so I went back up Robson Street and walked around. I went to a little chocolate store called "Daniel". It was a nice spot, nothing to do with the name of course ;) I also went to the Nike Store. There was a really neat display with a Canada flag made out of dozens of Canada jerseys.

I walked back down toward the arena and attempted to get a ticket for Canada-Russia. However, I refused to pay some of the prices some of the scalpers were asking. $1500 for one ticket? Get real. I don't know how much some of them got, but when I left to go back to the apartment to watch the game, the lowest price I had heard at that point was $600. Insane.

I came back and watched the game with Matt and Heather. What a performance. If the offence shows up like that tomorrow and Sunday, gold is guaranteed.

After the Canada game was over and we watched the bobsleigh medals, I decided to head down to the arena to see if I could get a ticket for the Sweden-Slovakia game. The winner of that game would be taking on Canada in the semi-final. I had wanted to see Sweden play because of the four Red Wings on the roster. I managed to get a lower bowl ticket, right at centre ice, for half of face value. The seat was great. It was a very good game. Slovakia won a nail biter, and Canada will have to take them very seriously tomorrow. They are a great team.

I don't have many plans for today. My poor feet are killing me. I might take it easy, but I doubt it, haha. There's too much to see around here. It's been a great trip. I'll have more later.
