Day 7 Recap

So as I said earlier, I walked around for most of the morning. I went to The Bay again to see if any new stuff had come in, and then took a look at the Mint Pavilion. There was a 2 hour lineup but the girl at the door told me that it was slower later in the evening. I decided to walk towards Gastown and on the way I stopped at the Vancouver Public Library. It's a pretty impressive structure. I saw it in a movie last month, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. It was Heath Ledger's last movie. After that I stopped by Vancouver Community College where an Aboriginal showcase was taking place. I then walked down to Gastown again and took another look around. I stopped in a few places but then walked back up towards Chinatown.

I had planned on just hanging out near the entrance of Canada Hockey Place and taking a look to see if any of the players might come by. But on the way I ran into a guy selling one ticket to the Switzerland-Belarus game. It was after the 12PM start time and I had no real desire to go but I decided to ask him how much he was selling it for. He said $40. I only had $20 but he literally took the money out of my hand and put the ticket in. So I went into the stadium just as the 2nd period was starting. It was tied1-1 and it turned out to be a decent game. Both teams had lots of chances. Switzerland ended up winning 3-2 in a shootout.

After the game I headed back to the apartment and watched the Canada game. Much better showing than Sunday. Hopefully it continues tomorrow against the Russians. I might take a look for another ticket but I doubt I'll get it for $20 ;)

After Matt made a great stirfry for supper, Heather headed over to the Victory Ceremony and Matt and I headed back down to the Mint pavilion. It was a lot less busy, we headed right on in. We walked past Robson Square on the way back and the lights were great.

I don't have a whole lot planned for tomorrow, except for maybe trying to get to the Canada game. If not, the TV at the apartment will do just fine! I'll have more tomorrow!
